Tan Sri Andrew Sheng
Tan Sri Andrew Sheng served as Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong from 1998 to 2005, having previously been a central banker with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Bank Negara Malaysia. He writes regularly on international finance and monetary economics, financial regulation and global governance in leading economic magazines and newspapers including AsiaNewsNet and Project Syndicate, as well as Caijing and Caixin magazines in China. A chartered accountant by training, Tan Sri Andrew Sheng holds a First-Class Honours in Economics from Bristol University and Honorary Doctorates from University of Bristol and University of Malaya. As part of ICMR’s Distinguished Fellow programme, his appointment will further provide value by delivering a combination of in-depth research and practical ideas built on a collaborative process. His links to academia will be critical for bridging the gap in terms of realworld applications of academic research.

Dr. Joanne Yoong
Dr. Joanne Yoong is an applied economist working at the intersection of behavioural economics and health and financial decision making for the well-being of vulnerable populations. Dr. Yoong’s primary appointment is as Senior Economist at the University of Southern California, where she directs the offices of the USC Center for Economic and Social Research in Singapore and Washington DC, and is a principal member of the USC Behavioral Economics Studio. Dr. Yoong serves in various national and international policy and industry advisory capacities, and has previously held positions as the Director of the Center for Health Services and Policy Research at the National University Hospital System, Director of the Asia Pacific Regional Capacity-Building for Health Technology Assessment (ARCH) Initiative, Director of the RAND Behavioural Finance Forum 2012 and founding co-president of the Singapore Health Economics Association. Dr Yoong is also a member of the founding and organizing committee for the first Asian Workshop for Health Economics and Econometrics. In addition to her academic work, Dr Yoong is the founder of Research for Impact, a Singapore-based social enterprise working to make behavioral and social science research accessible, inclusive and transformative for all. Dr Yoong received her Ph.D. in Economics at Stanford University as an FSI Starr Foundation Fellow after an early career in financial services, and her AB summa cum laude in Economics and Applied and Computational Mathematics from Princeton University.

Professor Dr. Rajah Rasiah
Professor Dr. Rajah Rasiah is currently a Distinguished Professor of Economics at the Asia-Europe Institute of University of Malaya. His primary area of research is focused on technological innovation and economic development. He has worked on multiple disciplinary fields related to investment on innovation, entrepreneurship and human capital, governance, healthcare management, environment and Industry 4.0. Dr. Rajah received his doctorate in Economics from Cambridge University. He was previously a Rajawali fellow at Harvard University in 2014, and has also served in various advisory, professorial, and research positions at Zhejiang University, Oxford University, Cambridge University, UNIMAS, Lahore School of Economics, and more.EXPERT PANEL NETWORK

Yuta Seki
Senior Managing Director, Nomura Institute of Capital Markets Research Yuta Seki is a senior managing director at Nomura Institute of Capital Markets Research (NICMR). NICMR, affiliated company with Nomura Holdings, was established in April 2004. NICMR is the think tank whose research activities primarily focus on policy and structural issues in global capital markets and financial services. In 1990, he joined Nomura Research Institute (NRI) and took a role in consulting services in corporate finance and management fields. In January 2004, he was appointed as senior research analyst at NRI America, and as a head of New York representative office after an establishment of NICMR. In April 2011, he was appointed as managing director and the head of research department at NICMR Tokyo. As of April 2017, he becomes a senior managing director at NICMR. He is the author of various research articles and books, and serves as advisor or guest speaker for government committees and industry group advisory panels. Especially he has been involved with policy discussions on the impacts of FinTech on Japanese securities industries through the study group set up by Japan Securities Research Institute. He graduated Law Faculty at Keio University in 1990. And he earned an MBA from Marshall School of Business at University of Southern California in 1999.
Professor Dr Catherine Soke Fun Ho
Deputy Dean, Arshad Ayub Graduate School, UITM President of Malaysian Finance Association Professor Dr. Catherine is the Deputy Dean of Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School, University Technology Mara (UiTM). Prior to this, Dr Catherine held various appointments in the Faculty of Business Management, UiTM. Dr Catherine has received numerous local and international awards. In 2017, she received the Outstanding National Research Award on Islamic Banking at the Malaysia Research Star Award from the Ministry of Higher Education, Clarivate Analytics and Elsevier. Dr Catherine has also published significant papers in local and international journals and her latest paper on “Post Financial Crisis and Macroeconomic Fundamentals on Household Debt in Advanced Economies” was published in the Journal of Finance and Banking Review. Dr Catherine also holds several professional appointments. She is the President of the Malaysian Finance Association, Member of the Accreditation Panel for the Finance Accreditation Agency, Chief Editor for the Capital Market Review and part of the Editorial Board for the Journal Of Insurance and Financial Management, to name a few. Dr Catherine obtained her Ph.D. in Finance from Monash University, Australia. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from Fogelman College of Business & Economics, University of Memphis, U.S.A. and Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.
