Researcher, Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI)
Warawich believes that one of the ultimate goals of economics is to find sustainable solutions to foster economic growth. His primary areas of research interest are macroeconomics, public policy, and growth theory. Warawich started his academic career as a research assistant to his advisor, Assoc. Prof. Manachaya Uruyos, Ph.D., exploring policy questions of how Thailand can allocate resources towards research and development to promote its economic growth in the longer run. His first full research project, "Dependency, Old-age Labor Force Participation, and Economic Growth: Evidence from ASEAN Countries," underscored the structural issue of aging in the Thai economy. Warawich joined the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) as an intern in 2021, and was made a researcher at TDRI’s Inclusive Development Policy Team by the following year. He is committed to undertaking more research focused on sustainable and inclusive economic policies to facilitate Thailand's economic growth and improved social welfare.
